Recap
Flames dominated the shot count, but couldn't recover an early deficit, eventually closing the pre season with a 3-2 defeat at Coventry Blaze. William Boysen opened the scoring for Blaze in the 4th minute. A shorthanded marker by Kim Tallberg at 8:29 doubled their margin, but a quick powerplay reply by Marcus Tesink cut Flames deficit in half to begin the 2nd. Despite continuing to dominate the shot count through 40 minutes, 34-10 in favour of the visitors at that stage, Flames found themselves down a pair thanks to a Grant Mismash strike at 24:03. Early in the 3rd, Spectrum’s men pulled closer off the stick of Tyler Preziuso, but couldn’t find another despite finishing the night on a 52-16 shot advantage. Taz Burman was 13 of 16 while Dershahn Stewart turned away 50 of 52 shots his way. Gallery |
