Branislav joined the Flames from French side Dijon with whom he iced 17 games plus the playoffs last season after joining midway through the set. He split the previous campaign with his home side Dukla Trencin in the Slovak Extraleague and Nybro with whom he had an earlier stint when he spent the 2007-2008 season with the same Swedish club. He is an experienced defensive minded skater with more than 500 games of pro hockey to his name. His early senior circuit began with HK Dukla Trencin B in 1996-1997 followed up by 3 seasons at Puchov, Nitra, Dukla Senica and Liptovsky Mikulas. In 2000 he left his European base for the United States where he iced in 3 consecutive East Coast Hockey League seasons. He opened his American career with Birmingham Bulls ahead of back to back terms with Louisiana Ice Gators, tallying a total of 138 ECHL outings where he had 3 goals, 17 assists and 180 penalty minutes. In 2003-2004, he moved on to the Central League with the Tulsa Oilers with home he played in 52 games and had his best offensive showing at 20 points. He made his way back to the Czech Extraleague at Znojemsti Orli the following season, but returned to North America in 2005-2006 for the final time when he spent 50 games representing the United Hockey League’s Roanoke Valley Vipers. In 2006-2007, he hooked up with Norwegian side Stjernen ahead of a 43 game season the following year during his first Swedish excursion. He transferred in 2008-2009 to Rungsted/Nordsjaelland in Denmark before the split Trencin/Nybro 2009-2010 season that preceded his French stopover.
